Striker & Finishing Clinic “Scoring Goals is a mind set...creating goals is a team commitment” Have you ever wondered how Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Aguero score so many goals? Well, Elvis Comrie former UConn All-American Forward, professional and US national team player and former Division 1 Head Men’s Soccer Coach Holy Cross College will be hosting a Striker’s clinic this coming winter. The clinic will address a specific skill set “Finishing in the Final third” the program will address the players that play the following positions: forward, central midfield and outside flank players. The primary focus of the sessions will address the basic fundamentals on how to strike a ball, long range, short range finishing, crossing a quality ball into the mixer from the flanks for strikers to run onto making near and far post runs inside the 18-yard box, creating combination play between the forwards and central midfield players to create shots on goal, creating shots off the dribble, creating shooting opportunities based on the movements off the ball. Each of the players will be taken through a series of ball striking techniques, game like shooting conditions i.e. running onto a ball that is rolling away from the player to shoot on goal or adjusting your stride to strike a ball that is rolling towards the player to shoot on goal. Each of the players will be experienced multiple contact on the ball throughout the entire two hour sessions. Each of the sessions will conclude with small sided shooting games to ensure that each player is put into a competitive environment where the objective is to instilled the that “Scoring goals is a Mind set.” For further information: elviscomrie@comcast.net or (860) 985 5778 (617) 608-8644
