Our techniques use the attacker’s strength against them by a targeted use of leverage and motion. All instructors are certified black belts with additional training to teach this amazing art.Jukido is a group activity with individual progress and attention. After school at the Youth Center is a program for youth in grades 5-8 operating Monday - Friday from 3-6 pm at the Community Center. Parents will be responsible for transportation to and from the program. Many recreational activities will be available for the children including sports, arts & crafts and video games. Children will also have access to a dedicated homework room with limited homework assistance provided by staff. There is no program during school holidays or vacations. The drop-in program will have a membership fee and parents will need to complete a Pick-up and Medical information form before their child may attend. Children will sign into the program and will be supervised by Leisure Service’s Staff..

Health and balance ni the physical body, 2) Efficiency in breathing and energy levels, 3) Relaxation, calm and ease in the mind. Classes are easy to moderate and suitable for beginners. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and a light blanket. 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM    ZUMBA - ZUMBA Session 2
Zumba is a total-body cardio and aerobic workout, which burns up to 600 kcal per the amount of energy put forth. Zumba classes are typically about an hour long and the music is focused on four basic rhythms: salsa, reggaeton, merengue, and cumbia. No prior dance experience or exposure is needed to take a Zumba class. Zumba is safe and effective for all ages and help in building strength, improve motion, posture and create a sense of community with like-minded people. Besides its high calorie burning benefit, Zumba can help lower the risk of heart disease, reduce the blood pressure and bad cholesterol, and increase your good cholesterol. Instructor Krishna Parekh comes from a Indian background so her classes are also influenced with Bollywood dance styles

After-school Snacks: “Join Food Explorers to make some tasty after-school snacks! You’ll learn how to create two snacks and learn all about delicious and nutritious foods with a Registered Dietitian. Maybe even a game or two! You’ll be making: Bagels and 7 Layer Mexican Dip. Each child will make their own individual portion. Recipes are nut free but may contain dairy. Fall Baking: “Join Food Explorers to create some delicious fall flavored treats! With the help of a Registered Dietitian, you’ll be making No-Bake Pumpkin Cheesecake Cups and Apple Pie Pop-Tarts. Each child will make their own individual portion. Recipes are nut free but may contain dairy. Quick and Easy Meals: “Join Food Explorers to make your own dinner! Actually, why not make it two? With the help of a Registered Dietitian, you’ll learn how to make two delicious dinner recipes that you can impress your parents with at home. You’ll be making: Ricotta Gnocchi and Burrito Bowls. Each child will make their own individual portion. Recipes are nut free but may contain dairy. Holiday Baking: “Join Food Explorers to get in the holiday spirit with some yummy treats! Zumba is a total-body cardio and aerobic workout, which burns up to 600 kcal per the amount of energy put forth. Zumba classes are typically about an hour long and the music is focused on four basic rhythms: salsa, reggaeton, merengue, and cumbia. No prior dance experience or exposure is needed to take a Zumba class. Zumba is safe and effective for all ages and help in building strength, improve motion, posture and create a sense of community with like-minded people. Besides its high calorie burning benefit, Zumba can help lower the risk of heart disease, reduce the blood pressure and bad cholesterol, and increase your good cholesterol. Instructor Krishna Parekh comes from a Indian background so her classes are also influenced with Bollywood dance styles

The drop-in program will have a membership fee and parents will need to complete a Pick-up and Medical information form before their child may attend. Children will sign into the program and will be supervised by Leisure Service’s Staff..
