Children will also have access to a dedicated homework room with limited homework assistance provided by staff. There is no program during school holidays or vacations. The drop-in program will have a membership fee and parents will need to complete a Pick-up and Medical information form before their child may attend. Children will sign into the program and will be supervised by Leisure Service’s Staff..

This series is guaranteed to be fun for those in 3rd-8th grade. Each week our menu will feature a color theme, and all of the cooking will utilize ingredients that are of that week's color. In addition, each session will be hands on, and inspiring with ample time to taste test and share! At the end of the series, your children will be leaving with a new love for cooking. Having tried new and tasty foods, and best of all ready to share new recipes with the whole family. Can't wait to see you in the kitchen!

Striker & Finishing Clinic “Scoring Goals is a mind set...creating goals is a team commitment” Have you ever wondered how Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Aguero score so many goals? Well, Elvis Comrie former UConn All-American Forward, professional and US national team player and former Division 1 Head Men’s Soccer Coach Holy Cross College will be hosting a Striker’s clinic this coming winter. The clinic will address a specific skill set “Finishing in the Final third” the program will address the players that play the following positions: forward, central midfield and outside flank players. The primary focus of the sessions will address the basic fundamentals on how to strike a ball, long range, short range finishing, crossing a quality ball into the mixer from the flanks for strikers to run onto making near and far post runs inside the 18-yard box, creating combination play between the forwards and central midfield players to create shots on goal, creating shots off the dribble, creating shooting opportunities based on the movements off the ball. Each of the players will be taken through a series of ball striking techniques, game like shooting conditions i.e. running onto a ball that is rolling away from the player to shoot on goal or adjusting your stride to strike a ball that is rolling towards the player to shoot on goal. Each of the players will be experienced multiple contact on the ball throughout the entire two hour sessions. What is Therapeutic Yoga? Therapeutic yoga is a system of self-are which focuses on easy to learn exercise that can be done anywhere and anytime to promote: 1? Health and balance ni the physical body, 2) Efficiency in breathing and energy levels, 3) Relaxation, calm and ease in the mind. Classes are easy to moderate and suitable for beginners. Please wear loose, comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat and a light blanket. 10:00 AM - 11:15 AM    Mad Science Workshops - Sea, Sand, & Surf and Mad Mixtures
There are two 30 minute back to back workshops. The children perform experiments, and participate in demonstrations and get a take home item at the end of the program. Digging for Dinosaurs - Kids are introduced to the differences between meat-eating and plant-eating animals. They have the opportunity to look at some dinosaur teeth up close and work as paleontologists, by participating in a mini dinosaur dig that engages their attention and helps them improve their scientific knowledge.Space Frontiers - Take your class on a trip through the solar system and sign them up for the Mad Science Astronaut in Training Program, where they will learn all about the elements of space. Students will even get to take their very own mini rocket home. There are two 30 minute back to back workshops. The children perform experiments, and participate in demonstrations and get a take home item at the end of the program. Sea, Sand & Surf -Children explore the science of the sea and learn about what sand is made from, how shells are used by animals for protection, and what animals live in the ocean. They make their own ocean bottle to take home. Mad Mixtures -Interactive and hands-on activities give preschoolers an introduction to mixtures, Volcanos and the science of chemistry. Listen Closely -This workshop introduces kids to the science behind the sounds all around them. Kids experiment with a wave motion model and a twirling tube to help them understand that sound travels in waves and can be heard in a variety of pitches. They also learn about the everyday materials that make a variety of special effects noises in the movies and create their own special effects sounds. Let's Look Closely - Children discover a world that they might not have realized was there, through the use of mirrors, microscopes, and magnifying glasses. They reveal hidden pictures, learn about reflection and symmetry, and use handheld microscopes to observe objects closely

Striker & Finishing Clinic “Scoring Goals is a mind set...creating goals is a team commitment” Have you ever wondered how Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Sergio Aguero score so many goals? Well, Elvis Comrie former UConn All-American Forward, professional and US national team player and former Division 1 Head Men’s Soccer Coach Holy Cross College will be hosting a Striker’s clinic this coming winter. The clinic will address a specific skill set “Finishing in the Final third” the program will address the players that play the following positions: forward, central midfield and outside flank players. The primary focus of the sessions will address the basic fundamentals on how to strike a ball, long range, short range finishing, crossing a quality ball into the mixer from the flanks for strikers to run onto making near and far post runs inside the 18-yard box, creating combination play between the forwards and central midfield players to create shots on goal, creating shots off the dribble, creating shooting opportunities based on the movements off the ball. Each of the players will be taken through a series of ball striking techniques, game like shooting conditions i.e. running onto a ball that is rolling away from the player to shoot on goal or adjusting your stride to strike a ball that is rolling towards the player to shoot on goal. Each of the players will be experienced multiple contact on the ball throughout the entire two hour sessions. The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and Pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). The priority in Futsal is to motivate players in an environment that is conducive to learning. The more pleasure kids derive from their participation, the more they wish to play and practice on their own. The Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims of any age - adults (about 12 years and older) and Pediatric (infants and children up to 12 years of age). Students who successfully complete this course will receive a certificate for Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years.

This series is guaranteed to be fun for those in 3rd-8th grade. Each week our menu will feature a color theme, and all of the cooking will utilize ingredients that are of that week's color. In addition, each session will be hands on, and inspiring with ample time to taste test and share! At the end of the series, your children will be leaving with a new love for cooking.
